The rhythm of a story

A great edit isn't always about moving faster. Sometimes, the most powerful decision is knowing when not to cut.

I approach each sequence through three questions:

  • What should the audience feel?
  • What information matters at this moment?
  • How can timing strengthen that emotion?

Building the sequence

I begin with the story, shape its rhythm, and refine each transition until the sequence feels natural.

The goal isn't to make the editing noticeable. It's to make the story unforgettable.
